Paolo Tollis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Life Nano- & Neuro-Science of the Italian Institute of Technology in Rome. He holds a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology.

His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms through which non-coding RNAs regulate neuronal differentiation, function and disease. Using human iPSC-derived motor neurons, he investigates RNA–RNA and RNA–protein interactions involved in ribonucleoprotein assembly, intracellular RNA localization and axonal transport. His work combines molecular and cellular biology, transcriptomic and interactomic approaches, CRISPR-based genome editing, and advanced RNA imaging to explore the spatial regulation of gene expression in neuronal physiology and neurodegeneration.
