Natural ecosystems such as coral reefs are facing unprecedented challenges due to climate change. As vital ecosystem engineers, corals suffer from widespread stress caused by bleaching events and emerging diseases. At the Italian Institute of Technology, I am advancing research on eco-friendly, biodegradable biomaterials to develop novel therapies for coral infections and promote reef conservation.
